DELPHIC FLIGHTS, VOTIVE STORIES

The significance of the relationships between elements can also be said to apply to the interior installation that I’ve called ‘Delphic Flights, Votive Stories’, in a blatantly punning reference to its location! In some ways the situation  is the reverse to that of ‘Hullabaloo’ in which the outside space encompasses the piece. Here the piece encompasses the space and as a consequence, everyone and everything in it. Hopefully it’s benign enough not to threaten or oppress, but varied enough to make an adventure of ascending and descending the stairs. As in a sequence of one act plays or short stories blending into one another, the occupiers of the space become active elements in the action yet with the added dimension of being able to move forward or backward in time.
